The Desk

Consider it handled.

Your rooms are at the tournament hotel, the bus is at the rink door, and the team dinner is one long table — set up by a person who has run this weekend a hundred times. Whatever you approve is booked the same day.

The fee

Your first tournament is on us. After that, it’s about $6 per family.

$0your first tournament

See the work first. Then decide.

No team fee on your first tournament. The Desk books the rooms, holds the bus and the team dinner, and the whole team watches it happen in the app. At the end, you get one card that shows everything the Desk did — and everything you didn’t have to put on your card.

The pot is your team’s money. Paying by bank transfer is free; paying by card adds a small processing fee that’s shown to you. If the trip doesn’t happen, every dollar goes back. All of it.

~$6per family, after that*

$150 a team for full trip management.

What do you get? The Desk reads your hotel rules, books the rooms, holds the bus and the meals, sends in the rooming list, and settles every tab. Need something else? The Desk is a chat away. All you have to do is set up the weekend in our app.

*Families pay their share of the group pot on their own terms — including payment plans only they know about. The Desk does the rest. If the trip doesn’t happen, every dollar goes back to the families. If the Desk secures a discount, the difference goes back to the families. Our only fee is a family’s share of the $150 team fee — $150 ÷ 24, for example.

Hold your tournament

Where’s the tournament?

Nashville

A drive-to tournament weekend runs $700–$1,200 a family; a fly-away, $1,500–$3,000 — the numbers families report, and what the Desk quotes against. Two nights at the tournament hotel, the bus, the team dinner, fees included.

Source: Hockey Budget and Nickel City Hockey 2026 cost surveys. Costs vary by roster, dates and the tournament’s hotel rules — the Desk gets you your team’s real number in a day.

Questions

The ones every manager asks.

What does it cost to hold a tournament?

Nothing. Holding is free, and your first tournament has no team fee at all. After that, $150 per tournament comes out of the team pot for the Desk and the app — one line, split across the families, about $6 each.

Our tournament makes us book through their hotel website. Can you still help?

Yes. The Desk books the team’s rooms there, in each family’s name, by the tournament’s rules, and sends in the rooming list. What changes: the money comes from the team pot, every fee is shown, and no parent is doing it alone at 11pm.

Do families need an account to claim a seat?

No. They open the link, type a name and they’re in. No password, no download, no card. An account only comes later, when a family puts money in.

Where does the money sit?

In your team’s pot — processed and held by Stripe. Every move shows up in the app, where the whole team can see it. Brigata never holds your money; we direct it.

Is Brigata a bank?

No. Brigata is software. The pot sits at Stripe. Money leaves it two ways only — to the hotel, bus company or restaurant your team approves, or back to the card it came from. No interest, no lending.

What if a family drops out?

Before the trip is a go, their $100 goes straight back. After that, the first $100 of their share stays with the team — that’s what keeps everyone else’s cost from going up — and the Desk cancels or reassigns the room by the hotel’s rules. Nobody’s share changes without a yes.

Can the Desk get us a better hotel rate?

When the tournament makes you use their hotel, the price is the price — we work on free coach rooms and cancellation terms instead. Everywhere else, usually yes. Ten rooms for two nights is a group booking: the Desk calls the hotel directly, gets a group rate under the public one, and skips the markup a housing company builds in. The app shows the rate we got next to the rate you were quoted.

What about the coach’s room?

If the tournament gives it free, it never shows up. If the team wants to cover it, it’s a line in the app you choose to add, split the way the team agreed.

Are you a travel agency?

Brigata is the software. The booking is done by the Desk — real travel advisors working on your team’s trip. Every charge shows up in the app.

What about flights?

Normally each family books their own. For a fly-away, ask the Desk — group flights go in the app like everything else.

What about a family that lives in the tournament city?

Most tournaments let local families skip the hotel if you ask in time — usually two to three weeks out. The Desk asks for you. That family just pays for the team stuff, not a room.

Is there an app?

Yes, and you don’t need to download anything. Holding a tournament and claiming a spot both work in your browser with no account. You only make one when there’s money involved. It works alongside TeamSnap; it doesn’t replace it.
